Introduction
This is a
twelve night "The Jewel of Africa" wildlife experience. We will explore the Okavango Delta by rented 4x4 Safari vehicles. Elephant, hippo, lion, buffalo, giraffe and most other game can be seen in abundance.
Daily activities will include game drives, boat cruises on the waterways of the Okavango Delta, bird watching, brunches in the bush, sundowners and unforgettable nights around the campfire.

Itinerary
| Day 1 |
Clients will fly from
O.R.Tambo
International
Airport
in
Johannesburg
(
South Africa
) with Air
Botswana to Maun (
Botswana
). Depart ____ and Arrive ____.
Andre van Vuuren, Director of Explore Africa
and registered safari guide, will meet clients at the airport in
Maun. Light lunch at Bon Arrivee before going on a scenic game
flight with a light fixed wing aircraft over
Chiefs
Island
and the
Okavango
Swamps
. Group will overnight at Motsentsela Tree Lodge in Maun. |

The group leave via Shorobe and the Buffalo Fence for the Moremi
Game Reserve – The Jewel of Africa - in the heart of the
Okavango Delta. The Moremi forms an integral part of the Okavango
Delta, comprising permanently swamped areas and dry land. It is
probably the prime tourist destination in
Botswana
. Moremi is a prime wildlife area where elephant, hippo, lion,
buffalo, giraffe and most other game can be seen in abundance. We
will stay in our comfortable mobile bushcamp at Xakanaxa for two
nights and at Kwai Camp for two nights.
We will also do a two hour Mokorro (dug out canoe) safari at Mboma
Island before moving camp to Khwai Camp which is situated on the
banks of the Khwai River and in on of the best game viewing areas of
the Botswana. Daily activities will include 4X4 game drives,
a boat cruise on the waterways of the Okavango Delta, bird watching,
brunches in the bush, sundowners and unforgettable nights around the
campfire. |

We will leave the Moremi Game Reserve at North Gate where we will
cross the
Khwai
River
over the much photographed log bridge. We travel all along the banks
of the
Kwai
River
and head for Savuti in the
Chobe
National Park
. It is almost impossible to imagine that this desolate, harsh
landscape was once submerged beneath an enormous inland sea. The
Savuti area is one of the most photographed areas in the whole of
Africa
and most of the Africa Wildlife Videos (Derek and Beverly
Joubert’s “Eternal Enemies” and others where filmed here. We
will stay over in our comfortable mobile bush camp at Savuti Camp
for two nights. |

Travel through the Sandridge and
Teak
Forests
via Kachikau to Kasane where we will overnight in luxury in the
Safari Rooms on the bank of the
Chobe
River
at Chobe Safari Lodge for the next two nights. |
| Day 9 |
We are going to spend the day in the Chobe.
(Morning game drive along the banks of the
Chobe
River
and a three hour sunset boat cruise in the afternoon). The Chobe is
proud and very famous for it’s abundance of elephants – the
highest concentration to be found anywhere in
Africa
. Chobe is also famous for it’s huge herds of buffalo, for it’s
rich bird life and, not least for it’s boat cruises and exquisite
sunsets – an
Africa
experience not to be missed. We spend the night again at Chobe
Safari Lodge. |

Leave early morning via the Ferry (Pontoon Boat) at Kazungula
(where the four countries meet) for Livingstone in
Zambia
for a visit to the
Victoria Falls
. The
Victoria Falls
is approximately 1690m wide and very in height from 62m (Devil’s
Cataract) to 109m (Eastern Cataract). In comparison the
Niagra
Falls
are 968m wide and 54m high. Various activities e.g. Bungi jumping,
White River Rafting, Jet boating, Flight of the Angels etc. are
available at the Falls. We will spend two nights in the chalets at
the Zambezi Waterfront or Bushfront in Livingstone. |

This is the end of our Safari and guests will
fly from Livingstone on a British Airways flight back to
Johannesburg

Payments are made into the
Explore Africa bank account (ZAR) by electronic bank
transfer. Any charges made by the Bank will be

Deposit
A non-refundable deposit of 50% per person is required in order to confirm a booking. The balance is due a minimum of 14 days prior to departure.
