Itinerary
The trip will begin in Oshakati, Namibia and head north to cross the Angolan border at Ruacana. From there the trip moves west towards the Cunene mouth and then north along the beach (staying at Flamingo Lodge for two days) and up the coast for nine days, beyond Lobito and Luanda, all the way to the mouth of the Congo River at Soyo.
The tour then heads back south, but this time inland, taking in the Dondo region, Quibala, Huambo, Menongue and the Okavango River before heading back across the border to Rundu.
Roughly ten of the 22 days will be spent sleeping rough, the remainder in campsites and good value, basic lodges and cabins. Daily distances will range from between 130 to 500 kilometres.
A detailed itinerary with overnight locations, daily mileage and notable features of each day will be forwarded to readers on request.
Please note that the above itinerary may be changed, at any time during the trip, as a result of unfavourable weather or road conditions.
