Itinerary

Day 1

Molema Camp

Andre van Vuuren , Director of Explore Africa, and qualified safari guide will meet you at the Shell Garage in All Days at 14h00 before commencing our journey to the Pontdrift border post with Botswana . From here we will leave for Nokolodi  (20 km game drive) where we will spend the next two nights. Pondrift is quite a long drive from Gauteng (470 kilo’s) but the roads are good and a visit to “The land of the Giants” is absolutely worth your while.

Day 2

Molema Camp

We will go on an early morning game drive in the Northern Tuli Game Reserve with special open game viewing vehicles. Back at Camp we will have a hearty brunch before leaving in our own 4X4 vehicles for a drive to the Solomon Walls in the dry riverbed of the Motloutse River . Late afternoon we will get into the game viewing vehicles again for a afternoon game drive. We will spend the evening around the campfire, telling stories and listen to the wonderful sounds of our beloved Tuli Game Reserve.

Day 3
Day 4

Mapungubwe National Park

Today we leave for the Mapungubwe National Park . In 1932 the student Jerry van Graan discovered the treasures of Mapungubwe. His father owned a farm in the Limpopo valley and while Jerry was hunting on a neighbouring farm he was given water in an unusual ceramic container by a man called Mowena. The student offered to buy it but the owner refused because the pot came from a ‘sacred hill’. Jerry then remembered the story of the mysterious Frenchman Francois Bernard Lotrie who around 1890 was said to have found and raided a treasure laden hill in the same area, taking gold, diamonds and emeralds.

We will stay in the Mazhou Camping Site in Mapungubwe National Park for the next two nights The campsite is situated close to the Limpopo Forest Tented Camp in the Western Section of the Park caters for 10 caravans or tents, and each camping site is equipped with a powerpoint.

Day 5 Homeward bound

This is the end of our Tuli Safari Experience and we leave via Polokwane back to Gauteng .
